Al-Ahly Seeks Replacement for Vega to Strengthen Midfield
Thursday 05-06-2025
Al-Ahly Club has reached a final agreement with Porto regarding the transfer of Spanish midfielder Gabri Vega, as the player will undergo medical examinations before the official signing in the coming days.

Last season, Vega participated in 44 matches with Al-Ahly, scoring 7 goals and providing 5 assists, making him one of the key elements in the lineup of the Asian Champions League champion.

Vega's departure will force Al-Ahly's management to act quickly to secure a strong replacement in the midfield position, as the focus has begun to narrow down to several global names suggested to compensate for his absence.

Rodrigo De Paul, a player for Atletico Madrid, is one of the top candidates, having played 50 matches this season, scoring 3 goals and assisting 10, and he has extensive experience in European football at the age of 31.

Thomas Partey, an Arsenal player, is also a candidate, having participated in 52 matches, scoring 4 goals and assisting 3, while Leon Goretzka from Bayern Munich appears as a third option after playing in 40 matches and scoring 5 goals.

Bruno Guimarães, the star of Newcastle, is also strongly in the running for Al-Ahly, having had an outstanding season with 47 matches played, scoring 5 goals and assisting 8, and he is only 27 years old.

The options are on the table and the decision is approaching, with fans eagerly awaiting who will be Vega's successor in the midfield, amid promises from management of a big deal that matches Al-Ahly's ambitions for the new season.
