Will Mitrovic Leave? Osimhen Complicates Al-Hilal's Plans
In a notable development, British journalist Ben Jacobs revealed a significant meeting that recently took place between the management of Al-Hilal Saudi Club and representatives of Serbian striker Aleksandar Mitrovic to discuss the player's future with the team.
Jacobs confirmed that the capital club does not oppose the idea of selling Mitrovic during the upcoming transfer window; however, his hefty annual salary of 15 million euros net hinders his potential transfer.
He pointed out that some Premier League clubs, in addition to Italian club Milan, have shown interest in acquiring the Serbian striker, but the large salary presents a serious obstacle to completing the deal.
Jacobs concluded his remarks by confirming that the options on the table include reducing the player's financial demands or Al-Hilal accepting to loan him while covering part of his high salary.
In a related context, sports journalist Hamid Al-Garni talked about Al-Hilal's interest in Nigerian Victor Osimhen, noting that the club has not had a striker with such specifications since Brazilian Sergio in 2000.
Al-Garni stated that Osimhen is considered among the top three strikers globally, and possibly the best overall, admitting that he preferred to sign him before turning to Mitrovic.
Despite Osimhen's great capabilities, Al-Garni clarified that there are doubts surrounding his mental readiness, which makes his commitment to the teams uncertain until the last moment.
He added that Al-Hilal's management has made an attractive financial offer to secure the player's services, but the final decision remains dependent on Osimhen's desire to play in Riyadh or stay in Europe.
Al-Garni questioned whether Osimhen would request additional incentives on the offer, which could complicate the negotiations with Al-Hilal's management in the upcoming period.
