Zubimendi Denies Transfer to Arsenal and Affirms Current Focus
Martin Zubimendi, the star midfielder of Real Sociedad, has denied recent reports claiming he reached an agreement to transfer to Arsenal this summer.
Zubimendi stated while with the Spanish national team: "Your future? It will be a long summer, I don't know how it will end."
He added: "What would you do if Xabi Alonso called you to join Real Madrid? I have always said that Xabi is my idol, and it was an honor to be under his leadership as a coach at Real Sociedad."
He continued: "I don't want to talk about the possibility of Xabi Alonso contacting me, I prefer to talk about the present; it would be disrespectful to discuss that while I am with the national team."
He concluded: "Did you post pictures of yourself on one of the beaches in Spain while rumors said you were in London for a medical with Arsenal? Yes, I did that to clarify that those rumors are not true."
