Al-Wahda Presses to Retrieve Points from Al-Nassr
Sunday 01-06-2025
In a new development that brings back a sense of anxiety to Al-Nassr Club, Al-Wahda has filed an official protest against the "global" team, demanding that they be considered the losers of their recent match in the Roshen Professional League, due to their late arrival at the match venue.

The incident dates back to last February when Al-Nassr's bus arrived late to the match stadium in Mecca, causing the match to be delayed by an hour, despite Al-Nassr winning at that time with a score of two goals to none.

Al-Wahda, which officially exited the Professional League after finishing in last place, argued that the delay was not due to an unavoidable circumstance, but rather a result of negligence, demanding a review of the road cameras from Jeddah to Mecca.

The file submitted to the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center also included a request to summon the match supervisor for a hearing session to review the details of what was noted in his report regarding Al-Nassr's delay.

The arbitration center is expected to begin reviewing the file within 48 hours, with a final decision to be made within 20 days after the payment of administrative fees, which could lead to a significant shake-up in the league standings.

If Al-Wahda's protest is accepted and the match points are awarded to them, Al-Nassr will drop to fourth place with 67 points, losing the chance to participate in the AFC Champions League 2, with Al-Qadisiyah moving up instead.

Notably, Al-Nassr had previously won a protest against Al-Urouba after it was proven that goalkeeper Rafea Al-Ruwaili, who holds an administrative position, was ineligible to participate as a professional player.

What awaits Al-Nassr is not just a case, but a new test that threatens their season, which has ended without titles, amid increasing pressure from their angry fans and media awaiting the outcome of the upcoming decision.
