Real Madrid Club announced today, Friday, in an official statement, the departure of defender Jesus Vallejo, and thus he will not be with the team in the Club World Cup.

The club said: "Real Madrid announces that Jesus Vallejo has ended his career as a player at Real Madrid."

It added: "Vallejo played for five seasons with Real Madrid, and during this period, he won the Champions League twice, the Club World Cup 4 times, the UEFA Super Cup 3 times, La Liga once, the Copa del Rey once, and the Spanish Super Cup twice."

It concluded: "Real Madrid Club thanks Jesus Vallejo for his professionalism, commitment, and hard work, and wishes him and his family all the best in this new phase of his life."

Vallejo played 35 matches with Real Madrid, scoring one goal and providing another.
