Wednesday 28-05-2025
In the first reactions to the draw for the Arab Cup 'FIFA' 2025, which will be held in Qatar, Majid Bouguerra, the coach of the Algerian local team, expressed his great respect for the group in which the 'Greens' found themselves, specifically mentioning the Iraqi national team, describing it as a 'tough team with a strong character and high skills.'

In a special interview with 'winwin,' Bouguerra stated that his group in the upcoming tournament will not be easy at all, confirming that Algeria is facing tough tests, especially since they enter the tournament as the defending champion, which draws all eyes towards them.

The Algerian coach spoke with clear admiration for the Iraqi national team, stating:

'We have the Iraqi national team, which possesses a strong mentality, and it is difficult to play against them, as they have players with strong personalities and high skills, along with a great love for their country, which somewhat resembles our love for Algeria.'

He considered that everything will be linked to the mental state and psychological preparation of the players before entering the matches, noting that 'there is no easy team in the tournament.'

Although the group includes the Iraqi national team alongside two teams that will qualify from the playoffs later, Bouguerra emphasized that his team does not look at names, but rather at the level of readiness and preparation for every possible scenario, adding:

'All teams are waiting for us and preparing for us. We will work hard, and we will analyze the teams well to prepare for this phase.'

Regarding the list of players he will rely on in the tournament, Bouguerra confirmed that he has not yet determined the final number, indicating that the summer transfer market may play a significant role in shaping the final list.

He explained, saying:

'We are closely monitoring the players, and there is an upcoming transfer market, so we will see what changes will occur. Among these will be the best, those who can contribute with their experience and current level.'

He did not hide the possibility of resorting to some young players or even professionals playing in European leagues, if their legal status and club agreements allow it, in a clear indication of the desire to enhance the local list with elements of international quality.
