Real Madrid Sets Date to Finalize Carreras Deal
Monday 26-05-2025
Real Madrid is close to finalizing the signing of Alvaro Carreras, the left-back from Portuguese club Benfica, in the coming days, as the royal club aims to complete the deal this week so that the player can join the team’s training on Monday, June 2, in preparation for participating in the Club World Cup.

Despite Real Madrid's efforts to reduce the release clause of 50 million euros or include players in the deal, the club's desire to benefit from Carreras's services in the global tournament has pushed it closer to paying the full amount.

Spanish newspaper "Marca" confirmed that an agreement has already been reached with the player, and that Carreras is very excited to return to Real Madrid, but at the same time he has great respect for Benfica and hopes that an agreement can be reached between the two clubs without either party feeling harmed.

Carreras was a former player in Real Madrid's academy, where he played two seasons with the youth team and one season with the under-19 team before moving to Manchester United, then shining with Preston and Granada, eventually settling at Benfica, where he had his true breakthrough this season.
