Real Madrid Club announced in an official statement today, Tuesday, the departure of Raúl González, the head coach of the second team "Castilla".
The club stated: "Real Madrid announces that Raúl has informed the club of his decision to end his tenure as coach of our youth team."
It added: "It has been a source of pride for Real Madrid to have one of the greatest legends in our history and in global football as our coach and as a coach for our youth system."
Raúl is set to embark on a new challenge in the upcoming period outside of Real Madrid, amid interest from several clubs in securing his signature.
It is noted that Álvaro Arbeloa is set to take over the coaching of Castilla following Raúl.
