The Ongoing Conflict Before the Final Ruling: Developments in the Al-Nasr and Al-Urouba Crisis
A source within Al-Nasr club revealed in a conversation with "Okaz" newspaper that the club's legal position is completely sound in the case concerning the participation of Raef Al-Ruwaili, the goalkeeper of Al-Urouba club, confirming that they are awaiting a decision from the Saudi Sports Arbitration Center.
The source, who preferred to remain anonymous, indicated that Al-Nasr may escalate the issue to the highest sports authority if it becomes evident that there are any pressures affecting the center's decision, especially if it contradicts what was issued by the Disciplinary and Appeals Committees.
The newspaper "Al-Jazeera" reported that the relevant parties, including Al-Nasr, Al-Urouba, and the Saudi Football Federation, recently received an official letter from the arbitration center, which includes a request to sign the minutes of the hearing session, in preparation for issuing a decisive ruling in the case.
Journalist Abdulaziz Al-Asimi confirmed that Al-Nasr's approach to the arbitration center was not motivated by flattery or influence, but rather to protect its rights and enforce regulations, calling for respect for this approach as a legitimate civilized step within the framework of the laws.
Lawyer Khalid Al-Shallan emphasized the importance of holding Al-Urouba club responsible for including an unqualified player, warning that limiting the punishment to the player alone might undermine the essence of the case, noting that the fine and suspension could only apply to Al-Ruwaili.
Al-Shallan explained that the expected penalties for the player according to the regulations include a financial fine of up to 300,000 riyals and a suspension that could extend to six months, in addition to the nullification of his contract if the violation is proven according to Article 27/9 of the Professional Regulations.
