Yaicela: The result is disappointing and I feel sad for the fans
Matias Yaicela, the coach of Al-Ahli, confirmed that his team played a tough match against Al-Ettifaq and that the result is disappointing.
Al-Ahli lost to Al-Ettifaq with a score of 3-1 in a match held as part of the 33rd and penultimate round of the Roshan Saudi League.
Yaicela said in the press conference after the match: "A tough night and a disappointing result, we started the match well, but we lacked decisiveness. We wanted to present something special for our wonderful fans in our last match at home, and I feel sad for them, but I am very grateful for their constant support."
He added: "The season has indeed been difficult for us mentally and physically, sometimes we want to give a lot, and this is certainly not an excuse for today's match result."
Yaicela responded to a question about the club's statement regarding negotiations with him, saying: "I said what I could say at that time, and I hope journalists will seek the truth in the information they publish if they care about the club's interests."
He concluded: "My job is to focus in a professional and competent manner, and the matters related to the contract did not affect my management of the match."
