Zakho continues its positive results this season after achieving a well-deserved victory over Al-Qasim with two goals to none, in the match that brought them together on Tuesday evening at Najaf Stadium, as part of the fourth round of the Iraqi Stars League.

The match started at a moderate pace and witnessed a significant turning point in the 13th minute when the referee showed a red card to Al-Qasim player Ahmed Nour, forcing the team to complete the match with ten players from an early stage, making it difficult for them to keep up with Zakho's high tempo.

Zakho dominated the ball almost entirely after the red card, intensifying its attacks, and nearly opened the scoring in the 22nd minute through Ahmed Yassin, but the referee disallowed the goal due to a foul at the start of the attack.

In the stoppage time of the first half, Zakho succeeded in translating its superiority into goals, as Brazilian professional Patrick Marcelino scored the first goal in the +47 minute, after a precise pass inside the penalty area.

Just two minutes later, Zakho returned to strengthen the score with a second goal scored by player Gustavo Henrique in the +49 minute, ending the first half with a score of 2-0 in favor of the visiting team.

The second half saw modest attempts from Al-Qasim to return despite the numerical disadvantage, but Zakho dealt wisely with the match proceedings and maintained its lead with a clean double until the final whistle.

With this victory, Zakho raised its tally to 62 points, strengthening its position in third place, while Al-Qasim's tally remained at 48 points in ninth place.
