Ahmed Hassan Kahraba Clarifies His Position on the Emblem in Ligue 1
Tuesday 20-05-2025
Ahmed Hassan Kahraba, the Egyptian national team player and Le Havre player, commented on his participation in the last round of Ligue 1.

Kahraba said via the 'X' platform: "I received many abusive messages asking me not to participate in yesterday's match, and even after it. But yesterday's match was extremely important for our club and our fans, and I couldn't abandon my teammates in the most important match of the season."

He continued: "I did my utmost on the pitch for the team, as I always do. But I also had to find a way to remain true to my personal and religious beliefs."

He added: "The league chose to impose an emblem representing a cause I do not respectfully support due to my faith. I made the decision to cover the emblem, not as an insult to anyone, but to protect my conscience and adhere to my principles."

He concluded: "I believe that supporting any cause should come from the heart and be a matter of personal choice, not a forced obligation. Respect must be mutual."

He finished: "Just as we are asked to respect others, we also request respect for our beliefs and values. I know that some will disagree with my decision, but I acted sincerely, respectfully, and with a clear conscience. Let us continue to work towards creating a world where we can live together in peace, even when we do not all agree."
