Monday 19-05-2025
The Spanish club Valencia issued an official statement attacking the platform Netflix due to the new documentary about Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, a player for Real Madrid, which stirred widespread controversy following its recent release.

The film highlights key moments in Vinicius's football career, but it included footage from the match between Real Madrid and Valencia at the Mestalla Stadium last season, which witnessed accusations of racism from Valencia fans towards the Brazilian player.

Valencia stated in their announcement via their official account on the platform 'X': 'In light of the lies directed at our fans, we have officially requested an immediate correction from the production company, as what was shown does not align with the truth.'

They added: 'We demand the elevation of the truth and respect for Valencia fans, and we reserve our full legal right to take necessary actions.'

The match between the two teams had a temporary stoppage due to a scuffle between Vinicius and several Valencia fans, with the player accusing them of racist insults. Subsequently, Spanish authorities identified three fans involved in the incident and penalized them judicially.
