Valencia Considers Legal Action Against Vinicius Documentary
Friday 16-05-2025
The legal authorities at Valencia Club have begun examining the content of the new documentary about Brazilian star Vinicius Junior, a player for Real Madrid, which was released on Netflix in Spain.

This comes amid concerns that the documentary may portray a negative image of the club, its fans, and the Mestalla Stadium.

The film highlights an incident that occurred in May 2023 during a match at Mestalla, where Vinicius was subjected to racist insults from some Valencia fans, leading to the match being stopped.

The police have identified those involved, who were convicted of racist crimes and sentenced to eight months in prison, with a two-year ban from entering stadiums.

Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelotti sparked widespread controversy after his statements in which he described the entire Mestalla crowd as exhibiting racist behavior, before later retracting and clarifying that it was only a small group of fans.

Valencia is currently considering the possibility of taking legal action against the documentary if it is proven to negatively impact the club's reputation and image before the public.
