Al-Nasr Threatens to Withdraw from the Asian League: What are the Reasons?
Tuesday 13-05-2025
Al-Nasr Saudi Club has decided not to participate in the Asian Champions League '2' next season if it fails to qualify for the stronger tournament, the Elite Asian Champions League, according to media reports.

Media figure Khalid Al-Shunaif clarified that the Al-Nasr management believes that participating in the lesser Asian tournament does not befit the status of the team, nor the level of the star players that the current lineup boasts.

Al-Nasr currently occupies third place in the Roshan Saudi League with 63 points, which qualifies them, according to the system, to participate in the Asian Champions League '2', not the elite tournament.

With only three rounds remaining, Al-Nasr still has a chance to surpass Al-Hilal, who is in second place, by a five-point margin to secure a direct spot in the Elite Asian Champions League.

Despite Al-Nasr's overwhelming victory over Al-Akhidood with a score of 9-0 in round 31, they were eliminated from the semi-finals of the Elite Asian Champions League in the previous edition after losing to Kawasaki Japan 3-2.
