Hamdallah: I Hope Ronaldo Stays with Al-Nassr
Moroccan star Abdulrazak Hamdallah, striker for Al-Shabab, responded to calls for Portuguese Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Al-Nassr due to a trophy-less season.
Hamdallah said in his remarks: "Some people who do not understand football are calling for Cristiano Ronaldo to leave Al-Nassr. What can he do? He is doing his job as a striker and scoring goals, but there are things he cannot bear."
He continued: "Ronaldo is a symbol of football in the world, and Al-Nassr has not had a striker who scores as many goals as the Don for a long time. I hope he stays in the Saudi league because he is a significant addition and very important presence."
Hamdallah also addressed the details of his crisis with current Al-Ittihad striker Karim Benzema regarding penalty kicks: "Coach Nuno Santo was insisting on me despite Benzema's presence."
He added: "Benzema insisted on taking the penalties, and when he missed them, I became the first taker on the team. We are both top players in the end."
Regarding his concession of the number 9 jersey in favor of Benzema after his move to Al-Ittihad, he said: "I was asked to do this and I refused. I threatened to leave and put the management in a dilemma. Then Anmar Al-Haili, the club president, contacted me and asked me to give up the number, and I agreed, and then they gave me number 99."
