Arsenal Competes with Atletico Madrid for Signing Antony
Sunday 04-05-2025
Arsenal has entered the race to sign Brazilian winger Antony, a Manchester United player who is currently on loan at Real Betis, according to the website "CaughtOffside".

Antony joined Manchester United in the summer of 2022 from Ajax for £82 million, but he failed to deliver the expected performance in the Premier League and was loaned to Real Betis last January.

Antony has managed to regain his form and shone in the Spanish team's jersey, scoring 6 goals and providing 4 assists in 19 matches. Real Betis is looking to purchase the player's contract permanently, but competition has intensified recently with Atletico Madrid and Arsenal entering the fray.

Mikel Arteta, the head coach of Arsenal, is looking to strengthen the right-wing position as a backup for star Bukayo Saka, especially with the team preparing to participate in the Champions League next season.

Reports indicate that Manchester United is willing to sell Antony for a fee ranging between £26 million and £34 million only, as the club seeks to offload the player this summer.

The player's destination remains undecided, especially with Manchester United hesitating to sell their player to one of their direct rivals in the Premier League, which could give Atletico Madrid an advantage in negotiations.
