Al-Ahly Excludes Rose and Gomes from Coaching Considerations
According to press sources, Al-Ahly Club has excluded the German duo Marco Rose, former Borussia Dortmund coach, and Portuguese Jose Gomes, coach of Al-Fateh Saudi Arabia, from the race to succeed Marcel Koller in coaching the team in the upcoming period.
The press reports mentioned that the Al-Ahly management denied any agreement with German Marco Rose to coach the team, clarifying that they only entered into negotiations without reaching any agreement before retracting the idea of signing him.
The sources explained that the Al-Ahly management acknowledges that Marco Rose is a big name in Europe and possesses extensive experience, but negotiations with him have stopped, contrary to what has been circulated in recent hours.
The sources confirmed that the Portuguese Jose Gomes, former coach of Zamalek and currently with Al-Fateh Saudi Arabia, has also exited the race to succeed Marcel Koller in leading Al-Ahly in the upcoming period.
It is worth noting that the Al-Ahly management decided last Saturday to dismiss the Swiss Marcel Koller from his position and appointed Emad Nassar temporarily until a new foreign coach is contracted in the near future.
