The Hamadi Akari Stadium in Rades witnessed a notable moment on Sunday evening with the honoring of Maria Guardiola, the daughter of the famous Spanish coach Pep Guardiola, by the Tunisian African Club, on the sidelines of the capital derby match against Esperance, as part of the 27th round of the Tunisian Premier League.

The honoring took place during a special reception, where African officials presented Maria with the team's jersey, accompanied by a Palestinian keffiyeh, expressing their appreciation for her humanitarian positions supporting the Palestinian cause.

Maria, 24 years old, a model and fashion design graduate, has not only appeared as a social media star but has transformed into a global icon of solidarity with the Palestinian people, after repeatedly appearing wearing the Palestinian keffiyeh at sporting and international events.

She attracted attention during Manchester City's celebrations for winning the English Premier League title last season, where she appeared with a bag adorned with a keffiyeh, and posted on her Instagram account moving images of the victims of the war on Gaza, including a photo of a Palestinian girl holding a sign that read: 'Killing children is not self-defense.'

Previously, Maria sparked widespread controversy after appearing wearing a necklace that read: 'Free Palestine,' which received significant interaction on social media.
