Arsenal, led by Spanish coach Mikel Arteta, continues its efforts to strengthen the backline during the summer transfer window, showing significant interest in signing French defender Jules Koundé, a star at Barcelona.

According to the Spanish newspaper "Sport", Arsenal plans to make an official offer that could reach up to 75 million euros to secure Koundé's services, in a move that confirms the seriousness of the English club this time, following previous interest that did not translate into official negotiations.

Arsenal's interest comes at a time when the club is looking to bolster its squad in preparation for the upcoming season, especially after its impressive European performance this season, as the team is close to reaching the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League, provided they overcome Real Madrid.

The French player, who has become a key figure in Barcelona's defense under Hans Flick, previously expressed openness to the idea of leaving, provided a substantial offer that satisfies all parties arrives, despite recently confirming his happiness playing as a right-back with the Catalan team.

On his part, Arsenal's new sporting director Andrea Berta, who has good relations with Barcelona's management, is working to facilitate negotiations, especially since he has previously completed several deals with the Spanish club during his time at Atlético Madrid.

It is worth noting that Chelsea is also interested in signing Koundé as part of coach Mariska's plans to rebuild the team, which signals a fierce English battle for the player's signature.

Barcelona is currently facing financial pressures, with a surplus in the center-back position, in addition to the possibility of signing German defender Jonathan Tah on a free transfer, which may prompt the management to consider the offers made for Koundé.
