Al-Faraj Shocks Al-Hilal Fans
Media figure Walid Al-Faraj commented on the decline in the performance of the Saudi Al-Hilal team in recent times.
Al-Hilal drew against Al-Ettifaq yesterday, Friday, with a score of 1-1 in a match within the framework of the 27th round of the Saudi Professional League.
Al-Faraj said on his television program: "Al-Hilal has 14 days left before facing South Korea's Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors in the AFC Champions League, and 68 days until the match against Real Madrid in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup."
He explained: "Al-Hilal has huge challenges, and the team is not helping. The leader won the league title last season without a loss, but this season has seen 9 setbacks, including 5 defeats and 4 draws, losing 23 points, and it is clear that they do not intend to win the league."
He continued: "There are changing factors in Al-Hilal, which are not easy. The team entered the season with 5 commitments, won the Super Cup, then exited in the quarter-finals of the King's Cup, and in the league, the points gap with the leader Al-Ittihad has widened to 7 points with 7 rounds remaining."
Regarding the Club World Cup, Al-Faraj said: "At this rate, Al-Hilal could suffer a historic loss against Real Madrid, which could lead to humiliation, and with a white net, similar to the shock experienced by Saudis after the national team lost 8-0 to Germany in the 2002 World Cup."
