Former Zamalek Star Attacks Nasser Maher
Ayman Younes, the former Zamalek star, criticized Nasser Maher, the white team's player, after his poor performance in the second leg of the African Confederation Cup quarter-finals against Stellenbosch.
The match between Zamalek and Stellenbosch ended with the latter winning 1-0, allowing the South African club to advance to the semi-finals of the Confederation Cup, as the first leg had ended in a goalless draw (0-0).
Ayman Younes stated in television remarks on "On Sport" channel: "I am annoyed with Nasser Maher; he had a great opportunity to be a substitute for Zizo, because Abdullah El-Said, no matter what he does, won't contribute much to Zamalek since he is 40 years old."
He added: "What do you want, Nasser Maher? A chance is coming for you to become a superstar; Zamalek cannot live without a star. Throughout the ages, Zamalek generations have had this level of stardom."
He continued: "I was expecting Nasser Maher to be able to compensate for Zizo's position, and he must compete for that; it is unacceptable for him to be an ordinary player."
