According to "La Gazzetta dello Sport," Manchester City has entered the race to sign Spanish defender Mario Gila from Lazio during the upcoming summer transfer window, amidst interest from several major European clubs, including Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, and Inter Milan.

The report states that Manchester City aims to persuade Lazio's management to finalize the deal through a swap offer, which includes loaning the young Argentine midfielder Claudio Echeverri, who is 19 years old and has not had the opportunity to play for the team since joining from River Plate in January 2024.

Mario Gila, who is 24 years old, is a key player in Lazio's lineup, having excelled in Serie A, making him a target for Europe's elite.

The defender also received his first official call-up to the Spain national team during the last international break, benefiting from the injury of Pau Torres, a defender from Barcelona.
