Officially.. Liberia Requests Replay of Match Against Tunisia
Friday 21-03-2025
The Ministry of Youth and Sports in Liberia announced that it has submitted an official request to replay the match of its national team against Tunisia, which took place on March 19, 2025, as part of the fifth round of the African qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, and ended with a victory for the Eagles of Carthage by one goal to none.

In an official statement, the ministry expressed its deep concern regarding the refereeing errors witnessed during the match, indicating that the referee denied the Liberian team two clear penalty kicks, which directly affected the outcome of the match and Liberia's chances of qualifying.

The ministry confirmed that these refereeing errors constitute a violation of the principles of justice and sports integrity, calling on the Liberian Football Association to file an official complaint with FIFA to conduct a comprehensive investigation into the officiating.

The Liberian Ministry of Sports also called for a replay of the match to ensure justice and maintain the integrity of the competition in the African qualifiers.
