Luis de la Fuente, the coach of the Spanish national team, has decided to exclude the duo Raúl Asensio and Yeremy Pino from the squad for the first leg of the UEFA Nations League quarter-finals against the Netherlands, scheduled to take place in Rotterdam today, Thursday.

Asensio, the 22-year-old Real Madrid defender, recently received his first call-up to the national team after his outstanding performance with his club this season, having played 14 matches in La Liga and 8 encounters in the UEFA Champions League.

On the other hand, Yeremy Pino, a winger for Villarreal, is considered one of the promising talents who has previously represented the Spanish national team on several occasions.

The exclusion of Asensio and Pino comes as UEFA regulations prevent the call-up of 26 players, necessitating a reduction of the squad to 23 players.
