Esperance Tunis has officially announced the appointment of Maher Kanzari as the head coach of the team, replacing Romanian coach Laurent Reghecampf who was dismissed due to inconsistent results in the Tunisian league.

Esperance leads the standings with 53 points after 25 rounds, ahead of Monastir in head-to-head encounters, but has stumbled recently with one loss and two draws in the last five matches, costing them 7 points.

Reghecampf took over the team's coaching in November last year, succeeding Portuguese Miguel Cardoso who moved to coach Sundowns, and led Esperance in 24 matches, achieving 16 victories, 6 draws, and 2 losses.

Esperance is preparing to face Sundowns in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, and is also gearing up to participate in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup, making the upcoming phase crucial under Kanzari's leadership.
