Esperance Tunis Sacks Regecamp Due to Poor Results
Sunday 16-03-2025
Esperance Tunis has officially decided to dismiss coach Laurentiu Regecamp from his position due to the poor results the team has achieved recently.

The dismissal came after the team's struggles in the last two rounds of the Tunisian league, where they drew against Ittihad Ben Guerdane with a score of 1-1, and then against Shabab Al-Omran with a score of 2-2, which led to losing the top spot in the standings to Ittihad Monastir, who leads with 53 points on goal difference over Esperance.

According to the Tunisian newspaper 'Al-Shorouk', the Esperance management, led by Hamdi Meddeb, held a meeting with Regecamp before making the decision to dismiss him, amid divisions over the identity of the new coach.

Maher Kanzari, the head coach of the Tunisian stadium team, is considered the top candidate to succeed Regecamp, along with Mohamed Al-Sahli as his assistant. However, some board members oppose this option, especially since Kanzari is tied to a contract until the end of the current season with his team.

Despite local crises, Esperance is preparing for a tough confrontation in the quarter-finals of the African Champions League, where they will clash with South Africa's Mamelodi Sundowns in a decisive match that will determine the team's fate in the continental tournament.
