Simeone's Controversial Press Conference
Diego Simeone, the coach of Atletico Madrid, stirred controversy in a press conference following their elimination from the UEFA Champions League on penalties against Real Madrid, after winning 1-0 in the second leg and losing 2-1 in the first leg.
The referee of the Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid match had canceled Julian Alvarez's penalty due to him touching the ball twice during the kick.
Simeone said in his press conference after the match: "Anyone here who saw Julian touch the ball twice, raise your hand! Who raises their hand? Come on, come on, who raises their hand? No one raised their hand, okay, next question."
He added: "What did I say to Julian Alvarez? I didn’t talk to him, he was walking alone."
