Al-Harithi: Ronaldo Doesn't Necessarily Have to Start

Tuesday 11-03-2025
Mohsen Al-Harithi, the former star of Al-Nassr, stated that it is not necessary for Cristiano Ronaldo, the global player, to play all matches as a starter.

Ronaldo succeeded in scoring a goal in yesterday's match on Monday against Esteghlal Tehran in the second leg of the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League, which ended with Al-Nassr winning 3-0.

Al-Harithi said on the program "In 90": "Ronaldo performed wonderfully against Esteghlal Tehran and managed to win a penalty out of nowhere, and naturally, he is an important player for Al-Nassr."

He continued: "Cristiano's presence is important for Al-Nassr, whether on or off the field, but it is not necessary for him to play every match as a starter."

He added: "Cristiano is a great player, but he has aged, so he shouldn't participate in every match as a starter, as he has become unable to press."

He further stated: "Cristiano should make this decision himself, like telling the coach that he is not ready for a certain match or asking to be substituted in some matches where he feels he cannot make a difference."
