Saturday 08-03-2025
Jordi Masip, the former goalkeeper of Barcelona, has announced his definitive retirement from football at the age of 36, after a career that spanned over 11 seasons in professional football.

Masip clarified in his statements that his decision came after deep reflection, saying: "In the end, I decided to retire. I wanted to go back home and provide stability for my family and children, instead of the constant traveling during the few remaining years I have in the game."

He added: "I am happy and comfortable with my family, and I now enjoy watching matches in a different way."

Jordi Masip began his football career at La Masia academy and was promoted to Barcelona's first team, where he played for the Catalan club between 2014 and 2017, before moving to Real Valladolid and continuing his career in La Liga.

Masip bids farewell to the world of football after years of dedication, leaving a clear mark in goalkeeping, especially during his time with Barcelona and Valladolid.
