Odegaard: Returning to the Bernabeu will be great, and we haven't finished the job yet
Arsenal star Martin Odegaard spoke to the press after the team's 7-1 victory over PSV in the first leg of the Round of 16 of the Champions League at the Philips Stadium.
He said in his remarks: "It was a special match after the last few games, we needed this performance. A great start to the end. We were really great in attack, creating chances, and scoring goals. Unfortunately, we conceded one goal but the performance was fantastic."
He added: "We work hard every day, especially after performances like West Ham and Nottingham Forest. We worked a lot on finishing our attacks, but as always, we are always working hard. Tonight, we succeeded in everything."
He continued: "We focused a bit on finishing our attacks after the last few matches. We know we have the quality. You see today at this level, it's enjoyable that we created so many chances, so it was good to come away with everything."
Regarding scoring many goals: "Every player in my position wants to impact the game with goals and assists, and that’s something I haven’t been good enough at this season, but two goals and one assist tonight is a good step."
On the young players: "They play as if they have been here for many years. They have a lot of quality and confidence, and they are ready for it. I'm not worried about them; we enjoy having them in the team, and they have a great attitude."
About substituting Myles Lewis-Skelly after the yellow card: "He handled it really well. He knew it was a difficult situation. He had a yellow card and faced a tough challenge as well. He managed it well, and we are all there to support him, and I'm sure he will learn from it too."
He concluded about the possibility of facing Real Madrid in the quarter-finals: "It would be great to go back there, whoever we face, we will be ready. We have to finish our job at home first and then see who we will face."
