Neymar: I turned down a blank check from Real Madrid
Neymar Jr., the star of the Brazilian team Santos, admitted that Real Madrid wanted to sign him before moving to Barcelona in 2013.
Neymar said in his talk: "I received offers from Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich, but at that time I ruled out the Bayern Munich offer."
He added: "Barcelona's offer was specific, while Real Madrid offered a blank check; they told me if I wanted to join them, just write down the amount I wanted on paper, and they would give it to me. At Real Madrid, I would have received three times what I got at Barcelona."
He concluded: "Perez was always impressed by me, and he always talked about me, saying he wanted me to play for Real Madrid, but in the end, I followed my heart and said: 'Man, my dream is to play for Barcelona. Ronaldinho played there, Messi is there, it was my dream to play alongside Messi.'
