Manchester United midfielder Carlos Casemiro said that his best season in his career was his first season with the English club.

This is despite the large number of championships and successes that the player achieved during his career with his former team Real Madrid in many years.

"When you look at my career, I can say that my best season was my first season with Manchester United," Casemiro said.

He added: "I do not mean in terms of group titles, as the Champions League with Madrid is the best, but I think Old Trafford has witnessed the best version of Casemiro in my first year."

Casemiro's statement brought back to mind a previous statement to Portuguese coach Jose Mourinho, who said that the best achievement in his career was the second place in the English Premier League, accompanied by United.
