Manchester United Plans a Swap Deal with Aston Villa

Manchester United is preparing to resolve its attacking crisis in the summer transfer market through a potential swap deal with Aston Villa, which could see Marcus Rashford move in exchange for the impressive striker Ollie Watkins.

According to CaughtOffside, Manchester United is interested in acquiring Watkins, who has caught the eye this season by scoring 15 goals and providing 12 assists in 47 matches under the management of Unai Emery.

Rashford joined Aston Villa on loan last January after disagreements with head coach Ruben Amorim, and he has managed to regain his form significantly, prompting Emery to consider signing him permanently for £40 million.

However, Manchester United's desire to sign Watkins may change the course of the deal, as the club is contemplating offering Rashford as part of a swap agreement.

Watkins is expected to welcome a move away from Villa Park, especially after his role in the team has diminished with Rashford's impressive performance since his arrival. In related news, United has also expressed interest in signing French Lyon star Rayan Cherki.
