Cardiff City has announced the appointment of Welsh star Aaron Ramsey as the head coach of the first team until the end of the 2024/2025 season, in a surprising move amid the team's struggle to avoid relegation from the English Championship.

Ramsey, who is 34 years old, will take on the role of coaching the team while also being a player, despite currently being sidelined due to injury, which means he will limit his role to coaching during the upcoming matches.

Cardiff City is currently in second-to-last place in the league table with 42 points, just one point away from the nearest safe position, with three rounds remaining in the season, where they will face Oxford United, West Bromwich Albion, and Norwich City.
