This match will be the second that Melero López officiates for the Catalan team this season, following his refereeing of the match between Barcelona and Rayo Vallecano last February, which ended in a 2-0 victory for the Blaugrana. It will also be the second match for Celta Vigo this season under his supervision, after their defeat to Leganés with a score of 3-0.

The referee has a notable record with both teams, having officiated 11 matches for Barcelona in La Liga, during which the Catalan team achieved 8 victories, along with 1 draw and 2 losses. As for Celta Vigo, he has managed 32 matches in the league, where the team won 10, drew 8, and lost 14, including the last 5 matches.

This encounter will be the fifth that Melero López officiates directly between Barcelona and Celta Vigo, with the previous four encounters showing a slight advantage for Barça, with 2 victories and 2 draws.

It is expected that international referee Hernández Hernández will take charge of the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) duties in this anticipated match.
