Barcelona Supports Flick with Official Statement

The Spanish club Barcelona announced in an official statement its support for coach Hans Flick's comments, in which he criticized the schedule of La Liga matches and the lack of consideration for the team's participation in the Champions League.

The match between Barcelona and Valladolid has been moved to Saturday, May 3, instead of Sunday, knowing that the team will play against Inter on Tuesday, May 6, in the second leg of the Champions League semi-finals.

Barcelona requested that the match against Valladolid be held at 6:30 PM, but La Liga rejected this, and it is scheduled to take place at 9:00 PM, leaving the team with only 72 hours to prepare for the Inter match.

The club stated: "The club has expressed its dissatisfaction on several occasions this season with the standards set by La Liga and the Spanish Football Federation regarding the scheduling of first team matches."

It added: "We believe, as our coach Hans Flick publicly expressed yesterday, whom we give our full support and completely agree with his statements, that the relevant bodies in Spanish football should be more considerate of clubs participating in all official competitions at the final stages of the season like our club."

It continued: "This is an ongoing issue, and while we do not doubt the difficulty of organizing a busy match schedule, Barcelona will continue to defend its interests before local and international football bodies to ensure a more balanced and logical sports calendar."

It concluded: "In this context, Barcelona will file an official complaint with the football governing bodies to avoid the recurrence of such situations that harm the most important elements of the game, which are the players."
