Al Ahly Requests to CAF Before Facing Sundowns
Al Ahly club officials have submitted an important request to the Confederation of African Football (CAF) ahead of their match against South Africa's Sundowns tomorrow afternoon, as part of the first leg of the CAF Champions League semi-finals.
According to sources, Al Ahly's management has sent an official letter to CAF to secure the team's delegation tomorrow from any violence by the rival fans of Sundowns.
Reports indicated that Al Ahly's request to CAF came after the violent incidents that occurred during the match between Tunisian Esperance and Sundowns in the first leg of the CAF Champions League quarter-finals, where Tunisian fans were attacked and assaulted by the South African team's supporters.
Sources clarified that Al Ahly's management requested that the entire team delegation be under the protection and security of CAF before and after tomorrow's match.
