Official: Change of Match Date for Barcelona vs. Valladolid
La Liga has announced the rescheduling of the match between Barcelona and Valladolid, which is part of the 34th round of La Liga, due to the Catalan team’s participation in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League 2024/2025.
According to the Spanish newspaper 'Mundo Deportivo', the match will now take place on Saturday, May 3rd instead of Sunday, May 4th, at 10 PM Cairo time, in order to give Barcelona more time to rest, considering the pressure of their upcoming match schedule.
This adjustment comes after Barcelona successfully qualified for the Champions League semi-finals, having defeated Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-finals, winning the first leg 4-0 and losing the second leg 3-1, thus securing a spot to face Inter Milan, who eliminated Bayern Munich.
Barcelona is set to face their rival Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey final on April 26, then meet Inter Milan in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals on April 30, before traveling to Giuseppe Meazza for the second leg on May 6.
Barcelona tops the La Liga standings with 70 points after 31 rounds, ahead of Real Madrid, who is in second place with 66 points.
