Ahly club doctor Ahmed Jaballah announced that team star Taher Mohamed Taher was injured before the Red Giant's match against CS Belouizdad.
Ahly will face its counterpart CR Belouizdad in the third round of the group stage of the African Champions League next Sunday.
Jaballah said in statements on Al-Ahly's official website: “Taher Muhammad Taher had an MRI that confirmed that he had a partial tear below the anterior muscle in the outer part.”
He added: “Taher is undergoing treatment and will undergo new medical examinations next week to check on his condition and determine the period of his absence.” ".
