Wydad coach is shocked after the events of the Royal Army match
Wydad coach Rulani Mokoena confirmed that he was shocked by the events that took place in his team's match against the Royal Army yesterday, Thursday.
Wydad tied with the Royal Army with a score of 2-2 in the 13th round of the Moroccan League.
During the match, fans of the Royal Army threw stones at Wydad players.
Mokoena said in the press conference after the match: “I am shocked by what I saw. We are competitors, but we are not enemies, as you know. We are not enemies, and the spirit of football should not allow such incidents to exist.”
He continued: "This is not possible. A person cannot lose his life as a result of this. We can try to convince ourselves that it is normal, but in reality it is not normal."
He added: "Morocco is a wonderful country with wonderful people, and I am very happy to be here, but I am upset by this behavior. Stones were thrown at the players, and we should not allow such behavior."
