Former Zamalek star Ahmed Hassan revealed a surprise regarding Zamalek's negotiations with a new coach to succeed Gomez.
Jose Gomez left coaching Zamalek after receiving an attractive offer from the Saudi Al-Fateh Club.
Ahmed Hassan said on Facebook: “The Zamalek Council negotiated with Mikaly to take over as coach of the team after the departure of Jose Gomez.”
Zamalek is preparing to face Al-Masry Club of Port Said in the third round of the group stage of the African Confederation Cup, where the match will be held on Sunday, December 15th.
