Courtois: We knew the difficulty of the match, and this is Mbappe's case
Real Madrid goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois appeared in press statements after beating Atalanta 3-2 in the sixth round of the Champions League.
Courtois said: “ We know that it is a difficult stadium and that their style of play is difficult. They are leaders in the Italian League and are doing very well in the Champions League, and that sums it up.”
He added: “We were. We know it will be difficult and we have started very well. With Kylian’s goal and he scored many goals...but they increased the pressure and it cost us a penalty kick.”
He continued: “Has your behavior become better, yes, in some ways? Sometimes it is difficult for us to start the first and second halves; we are usually decent in those minutes, but we are happy, it is a difficult stadium and we have won now, Salzburg and Brest, the latter is doing very well and the former is always Difficult."
He concluded: "Mbappe felt a muscle contraction. I don't think it was anything serious. He stopped in time. He didn't seem to have a tear But there was a muscle strain. He may be absent against Vallecano, but we will see later.”
