Club World Cup 2025: an exceptional edition

Wednesday 04-12-2024

All eyes are on the 2025 Club World Cup, which will witness a qualitative shift in the history of the tournament thanks to the new system approved by the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).

The tournament, which will be held in the United States from June 15 to July 13, 2025, will include 32 teams for the first time, making it a “mini-World Cup” for clubs.

System Tournament:

Group stage

The teams are divided into 8 groups, each group includes 4 teams. The teams in each group compete in a single-match league system, and the top two from each group qualify for the round of 16.

The knockout rounds

are held in a knockout system. Knockout in one match, starting from the round of 16 until the final, noting that there will be no match to determine third place.

Seat distribution:

Europe (UEFA): 12 teams.

South America (CONMEBOL) ): 6 teams.

Africa (CAF): 4 teams.

Asia (AFC): 4 teams.

North, Central America and the Caribbean (CONCACAF): 4 Teams.

Oceania (OFC): 1 team.

Host Country (USA): 1 team.

The draw for the tournament is scheduled to be held tomorrow in Miami, where the teams will be divided into four levels, taking into account that no two teams from the same continent will fall into one group, with the exception of Europe, whose groups may include two European teams due to the number of teams representing the continent.
