Guardiola: I like challenges, and this is our problem
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola appeared in press statements after the 2-1 loss to Brighton, in the eleventh round of the English Premier League.
The coach said: “ Losing 4 matches in a row for the first time in your coaching career? Well...there is always something that happens for the first time in life.”
He added: “Your conversation with Van Heck, the Brighton player? He should have stood up to Haaland during... That altercation after he was strong with Haaland throughout the match. Van Heck and the Brighton team played a great match, so I congratulated them on their performance.”
He continued: Bournemouth deserved to win. In other matches we were really good and then lost, but the arguments seem like excuses. If we were really bad I would say so, but that was not my feeling. Today we were not able to maintain our fitness throughout the 90 minutes.”
He stressed: “Our problem is not the bad performance.” Rather, we were unable to provide a good performance for 90 minutes.”
He concluded: “The team’s poor performance? I love challenges, I will not give up, I want to do this more than ever.”
