Pioli comments on the decline in Ronaldo's goalscoring rate
Al-Nasr Saudi coach Stefano Pioli commented on the failure of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo to score any goals in the third consecutive match in the Saudi League.
Al-Nasr won yesterday, Friday, over its counterpart, Al-Riyadh, with a goal without a response in a match. Within the tenth round of the Saudi League.
Pioli said about this matter in the press conference after the match: Ronaldo is a great player, and I am very happy with the level he is performing with the team.”
He added: “Ronaldo is doing a great job, and I am happy with his level. Even if you don't register. We have a good group of players who can make the difference and score.”
He continued: “The team is not only 11 players. We have a large group of players, and we must rotate between them to avoid fatigue. Indeed, we appeared well, and from one match to another, the level rose clearly.”
He explained: “Every match has its own circumstances. Riyadh was playing defensively, unlike Al Ain, which was attacking, and thus spaces appeared.”
He concluded: “It was a difficult match, but I am satisfied with the level of all the players, and we could have finished with a greater result, but we did not take advantage of the opportunities that were given to us, as the team suffered from fatigue at the same time, due to playing 7 matches in 21 day".
