Nistelrooy: It was important to achieve stability and leave the team in better shape

Manchester United coach, Van Nistelrooy, made important statements before the upcoming Leicester City match, in the eleventh round of the English Premier League.

Nistelrooy said about the team news: “We benefited a lot yesterday from Eriksen participating for 30 minutes, with Ugarte and Mount participating in their first minutes of participation. I am very happy with their return, and Lot Shaw and Lenny returned to training with the team.”

Regarding the possibility of becoming a coach for Manchester United, he said: “I thought about this well. I came here as an assistant coach. I knew that coming to Manchester United was a special occasion and I felt that I wanted to be a coach.” Part of this journey in the assistant role, I have clear ambitions for management, I signed a two-year deal as an assistant and I am still in the same frame of mind.”

He continued about his record with the team as interim coach. "I think if you look, it's a game of results in the end, and the last three results were okay. We finished in the Carabao Cup, we got a good point against Chelsea when we felt we deserved more, and we got an important win in the Europa League."

Nistelroy stressed: “The results achieved in the recent period will make me leave the team in a better condition, as it is better to manage a team that has won two or three times, and to communicate with the fans.” It is there, and there is a good feeling that we are able to turn things around.”
