French Hervé Renard, coach of the Saudi national team, excluded Abdel-Ilah Al-Omari, Al-Ittihad club defender, from Al-Akhdar’s list to play the matches between Australia and Indonesia, in the decisive round qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, due to injury.
It is noteworthy that Al-Omari suffered a muscle injury against Al-Orouba with his team Al-Ittihad yesterday, Thursday, in the tenth round of the league championship, which the team won 2-0.
Reynard called up defender Aoun Al-Salouli to the Saudi national team’s roster in order to play the matches against Australia and Indonesia in place of the injured Abdel-Ilah Al-Omari.
The Saudi national team occupies third place with 5 points in the standings of the third group of the Asian qualifiers for the 2026 World Cup, on goal difference from the runner-up, the Australian team.
