Guardiola: I want to fight for everything and I will not give up
Manchester City coach, Pep Guardiola, appeared in press statements, following the defeat by the Portuguese club, Sporting Lisbon, in the fourth round of the Champions League, with a score of 4/1.
Guardiola said about the defeat against Sporting Lisbon: “I cannot say much when we lose 4/1. The result speaks for itself. Congratulations to Sporting Lisbon for this match.”
He added: “You will certainly lose matches, and you should not live in the glories of the past. We could have finished the match in the first half, but in the middle of the match we found ourselves losing with a score of 3/1. That’s all.”
He continued: “Regularity in defensive performance? Perhaps we were not regular in performance, but with this number of matches, you will certainly not play with the same defensive formation in every match.”
He stressed: “We presented an amazing first half, but after that we struggled to score and did not take advantage of the opportunities. We created many chances but were unable to do the simplest tasks for us and that is why they punished us with the result. For the third and fourth goals we made mistakes that we could have done.” It can be avoided and such matters cannot be tolerated.”
He concluded his speech: “I am here and I want to be here. I want to fight for everything and I will not give up. I love the challenge. He wants to follow me and follow me, so follow us and we will come back.”
