Slott: This is what we needed, and what happened gives us confidence
Liverpool coach Arne Sloat appeared in press statements after beating Brighton 2-1 in the tenth round of the English Premier League.
The coach said: “We were We need another performance in the second half, but because we excelled in the first half. They were better with the ball and more aggressive without the ball. Then everything changed in the second half because it was exactly the opposite.”
He added: “Our strikers scored goals but the main difference was that we were in a better position and had the ball more often. Without the ball, they caused us problems, but in the second half we continued to run.”
And about leading the English Premier League: “It is more important if you play against Arsenal in their stadium and you can get Draw away from home. Brighton is a very strong team too, they have shown that this season. If you play a team like that and you're 1-0 down and you can come back to win 2-1 which in my opinion was deserved, it gives me a lot of confidence. More than the situation we are in.”
Regarding Ibrahima Konate’s injury: “He suffered a lot of pain during the half. The good thing is that we have two very good substitutes, Joe Gomez and Jarrell Quansah. I chose Joe today because Jarrel was really tired and he proved me right because he was fantastic in the second half.”
He concluded about Joe Gomez: “He performed very well without the ball. . He was constantly advancing into midfield to get the ball and win duels, and when he had to defend he performed very well. The second half was very good.”
